Moving our mother into assisted living was a difficult but necessary decision for my family. After visiting several places we decided to visit the Promenade at Blue Hill. The minute I walked in I just knew it was “the one”! The lobby makes you feel like you are in Disney and the birds and fish made it seem like a real home. It was beautiful, immaculate and inviting. My siblings and I joked about wanting to move in ourselves.
We made an appointment for Mom to visit with Saundra Pomerantz. Saundra had us wait in the office while she took Mom on a tour. Mom had been very against the idea, repeatedly insisting that she didn’t belong in a place like this. What we hadn’t been able to do in a year, Saundra did in 25 minutes. She told Mom that she would be an asset to the place – she made her feel needed and important. When they came back from the tour, Mom asked when she could move in. My brother and I were floored! We could not believe it!
Today she is so happy and loves the Promenade. She eats 3 great meals a day in a beautiful dining room. Her medicine is administered each night. We no longer worry about her every minute, and have such peace of mind knowing she is so well taken care of. Everyone at Promenade is so kind and caring – we just love it and so does Mom. We’ll always be grateful for people like Saundra – she’s so reassuring and always knows exactly what to say. We know Mom is in great hands – it’s the best decision we ever could have made.
